2.4 GHz Wireless Audio/Video Sender $109 Buy On-Line Enables camcorder viewers to watch their video on the TV without running wires. CamLink eliminates the hazards of tripping over wires in the living room and tedious effort in hooking-up cables RF-Link Technology, Inc., manufacturer of the award winning 2.4 GHz wireless WaveCom Sr., introduces CamLink, a wireless link between the camcorder and TV. CamLink offers a complete solution for consumers looking for a way to watch their camcorder images without entangling themselves in wires. CamLink consists of a transmitter, which easily connects to the camcorder with RCA cables, and a receiver that connects to the TV in the same fashion. Images are sent from the transmitter to the receiver using wireless RF (radio frequency) 2.4 GHz technology. RF transmission also eliminates the need for direct line-of-site, as required with IR (infrared). CamLink has two other useful applications in addition to its easy playback of a camcorder. CamLink turns any camcorder or surveillance camera into a home monitoring system. Wireless images can be sent to any TV within 300 feet whereby users can watch and hear live action from any room in the house. Images can also be sent to a VCR to be recorded and set for playback at a later time. This feature provides a convenient and effective way to keep watch on the sleeping baby or the kids playing at the pool. A Snap-on battery pack enables the transmitter when no AC outlet is nearby. The second use of CamLink is multi-room video entertainment. Users can send signals from their DSS, LDP, VCR and DVD to second TV in the house without an addition video unit. According to Steve Currens, National Sales Manager at RF-Link Technology, "the video equipment is located downstairs in the living room, but the consumer wants to watch it upstairs in his bedroom. With CamLink, audio/video signals are sent from the media room with all the video equipment to another room in the house." CamLinks 2.4 GHz frequency offers several advantages over the crowded 900 MHz frequency. These include:
