AIWA Features

Exercise Monitor
AIWA Cross Trainer series headphone stereos and radios with built-in Exercise Monitors not only keep you entertained but also let you set your own training goals. This feature helps you maintain the proper pace and lets you know when you've reached your target distance or calorie burn.

E.A.S.S. Plus
AIWA's advanced E.A.S.S. (Electronic Anti-Shock System) Plus is superior to anti-shock systems that rely primarily on buffer memory. With a significantly extended horizontal motion tolerance range and extremely precise laser pickup focus servo control, AIWA attacks the problem at the source. The laser pickup is far less likely to mistrack as a result of severe shock. And should mistracking occur, recovery time is much shorter. Combined with the digital buffer memory, this design significantly improves the ability of AIWA headphone CD players to deliver uninterrupted music in typical portable use.

Front Surround Speakers
Huge, spacious sound from a compact portable system… It seems impossible, but that's what you get with AIWA's Front Surround design. It features two upward-firing speakers in addition to the two normal front-facing stereo speakers. Because the sound from the additional speakers is reflected and just slightly delayed before reaching your ears, you get an impressive surround sound effect with enhanced presence and depth.

Q Surround
Can you experience surround sound using just two speakers? Q Surround proves its possible. Using unique signal processing algorithms based on advanced psychoacoustics, Q Surround circuitry creates a phantom center channel, expands the front left and right stereo sound field, and places "virtual" surround speakers around you to simulate the effect of a multi channel system. AIWA portable stereos with Q Surround can thus deliver a rich, all-encompassing soundfield that recreates the "you are there" experience as no conventional compact 2-speaker system can.

Q Sound
Q Sound is a sophisticated signal processing circuit that makes the stereo soundstage more expansive and lifelike. By using advanced psychoacoustic principles, Q Sound creates a virtual sound image that seems to extend well past the speakers, enhancing your perception of width, height, and depth. You'll find Q Sound on most AIWA portable stereos and all AIWA stereo radio cassette recorders.

Super T-Bass
AIWA's portable stereos with Super T-Bass deliver surprisingly deep and powerful bass sound without the "boominess" that characterizes systems with less sophisticated low-frequency enhancement circuits. That's because Super T-Bass was specifically engineered to improve the low-end performance of small speakers, taking into account their particular resonance characteristics.

V-Sensor
V-Sensor provides the convenience of voice-activated recording - great for taping meetings and unattended audio monitoring.

Stop Watch
Some Cross Trainer models have built-in Stop Watch function with 10-lap memory, so you can time events or pace yourself through the length of your workout.

NFR (Noise Filtration Recording)
Background noise often makes recorded speech difficult to understand. Aiwa's sophisticated NFR circuitry significantly improves intelligibility by emphasizing the frequency range of the human voice while cutting unneeded low- and high-frequency sounds that can distort the recording. It's like turning on an audio "spotlight."

3-Point Battery Life Indicator
A single indicator gives you little advance warning that your batteries are about to die. AIWA portables with 3-point indicators tell you at a glance how much power you have left, so you're less likely to be surprised and out of music.

DSL (Dynamic Super Linear) Bass
AIWA's DSL circuitry is a sophisticated electronic equalizer automatically that compensates for bass roll-off, thereby extending the speaker's low-frequency response. The amount of compensation is varied according to signal level to prevent distortion and provide deep, natural-sounding bass at all listening levels.

Flashing Record Indicator
How do you know whether your tape recorder is actually recording? AIWA tape recorders have a flashing indicator that gives you visual confirmation that you are indeed recording, so there's no mistake.

Display Sensor Control
AIWA's clock radio (Model # FR-A505) features a large-numeral display and is equipped with a thoughtful Display Sensor Control system. Simply pass your hand over the top of the unit, and the display will appear. A few seconds later, it will automatically disappear. It's a boon to light sleepers who might be distracted by the constant glow of the LED display.

Super Bass
This low-frequency enhancement circuit by AIWA gives you big, thrilling headphone sound… even from AIWA's inexpensively priced headphone stereo portables.

MSP (Multi Sound Processor)
AIWA's Multi Sound Processor incorporates equalization circuitry with preprogrammed settings that you can quickly and easily select. The settings effectively enhance frequency balance for different types of music - such as classical, pop/rock, and jazz - giving you optimum sound according to your listening preferences.

Bass Reflex Speakers
Although more expensive to manufacture than sealed-box designs, bass reflex speakers can reproduce lower frequencies more efficiently. All AIWA portable stereos feature bass reflex speakers, so that watt for watt of amplifier power and inch for inch of speaker size, you get the deepest, most powerful bass response possible.

Auto Pause Release
With the Auto Pause Release function, user can release the Pause mode by pressing STOP button. Ordinarily, in order to release the Pause mode, the Pause button must be pressed once again. If the user forgets to release the PAUSE button, then pressing any other button will not activate the unit, causing some users to misunderstand and assume that the unit is malfunctioning
