The HTR-5460 is a 5-channel receiver providing best performance and processing available for music and video sound. The 5 channels are: Left/Right Main, Center, Left/Right Rear Effects. This receiver delivers Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel formats. HTR5460 receiver features Digital Sound Field Processing, Cinema DSP and Tri-Field Processing, Dolby Surround Pro Logic processing. The HTR-5460 also provides Silent Cinema and all channel stereo.

• High Performance LSIs And Other Circuity
  Yamaha's single function IC chips (ASICS) are more efficient than multi-function chips and provide the most accurate decoding possible. Yamaha's YSS-928 chip is a 32-bit ASIC that provides Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, DTS, Cinema DSP, Tri-Field Processing. High density Cinema DSP circuitry is incorporated by utilizing Yamaha's 32-bit YS-928 LSI, two decoding LSIs, a low impedance drive amplifier featuring superior power transistors, and gigantic heat sinks.
• Discrete Power Transistors
  Discrete power transistors are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amplifer delivers 100 watts each to five channels.
• 26 Sound Field Modes - Including 70mm Cinema DSP, Tri-Field Processing DSP
  Yamaha's Sound Field Processing for music recreates the acoustics of actual concert halls. 35mm and 70mm Cinema DSP multiplies the effects of Dolby Pro Logic and Yamaha DSP to provide the best possible Pro Logic movie theater recreation in your home.

• 5 Digital Inputs
  With five fully assignable digital inputs (4 optical and 1 coaxial), the HTR-5460 can accommodate digital sources such as DVD, CD, LD, Cable/Sat, D-TV, and MD.
• 5 Audio/Video & 4 Audio-Only Inputs
  The HTR-5460 receiver incorporates five sets of audio/video inputs and four audio-only inputs. All the video inputs have RCA jacks and S-video terminals. Includes one set of A/V inputs on the front panel for fast and easy connection, including a digital optical jack.
• Component Video Inputs and 30 MHz bandwidth
  The HTR-5460 provides two component video inputs and a full 30 MHz video bandwidth, so the best possible video image is maintained.
• Low Impedance Drive Capability And Impedance Switching
  Yamaha's famed low impedance drive circuitry is included in this receiver so that it can handle virtually all loads and a wide variety of speakers. For further speaker matching, the amplifier can set for either 4- or 8-ohm speakers.
• Linear Damping Factor Circuit
• Bass Extension Control
  Accentuates the bass by adding a 7 dB boost at around 70 Hz.
• A/B Speaker Selector
• Sleep Timer -- Allow to set it for up to two hours in 30 minute increments.
• 4-Station Direct Access Preset Tuning
  Up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups eight stations. These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together.
• Binding Post Speaker Terminals
  Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.
