Minolta Vectis 3000 Minoltas Vectis 3000 contains a full 3x zoolens, yet is small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, or in a shirt pocket. The sleek and slim body cover retracts to create a stylish, lightweight aluminum capsule that protects the controls and high-quality optics. For taking pictures, the capsule extends to an easy to hold size, and the flash pops up ready for use. Additionally, the increased flash-to-lens dis-tance helps reduce the red-eye effect common in flash portraits. 3x, 22-66mm Aspheric Zoom Lens The Vectis 3000 features a newly developed 3x, 22 66mm (approx. 27.5 82.5mm in the 35mm format) zoom lens that provides continuous focal length selection with the touch of a button. 22 66mm is an extensive and versatile zoom range ideal for everything from landscapes and travel photos, to groups, to portraits, and even detailed close-ups. Minoltas new optical formula of 5 lens elements in 5 groups uses two double-sid-edaspheric elements that include a low disper-sion glass element with a high refractive index. As a result, superb image quality with reducedflare and chromatic aberration is provided at any focal length. Triple-Beam Autofocusing with Focus Lock Unlike conventional compact zoom cameras that use a single infrared beam for autofocusing, the Vectis 3000 uses three precisely aligned LED beams and approximately 408 focusing steps to detect the subject and measure subject dis-tance. As a result, even off-center subjects are rendered beautifully crisp, regardless of contrast or lighting conditions. Additionally, the focus can be locked by holding the shutter-release button partway down, so that the user can creatively position the subject anywhere in the viewfinder frame. Close-Up (Macro) Photography The Vectis 3000s sophisticated autofocusing system lets the user shoot sharp, detailed close-ups as near as 16 inches from the subject. The close-framing guide LCD automatically brackets the viewfinder for proper picture composition. Two-Segment Exposure Metering The Vectis 3000 features a dual-area metering system that measures light levels in both the subject area and background area. If the background brightness greatly exceeds that of the subject area, the flash will fire (in autoflash or autoflash w/red-eye reduction modes) to provide the optimum subject exposure. ADVANCED PHOTO SYSTEM FEATURESSelectable Title / Date/ Time Imprinting This feature is ideal for cataloging photographs or keeping photo records of important events such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc. Over 100 different titles can be selected, in 12 different languages. Frame and/or filmstrip titling can be selected. Date/time imprinting is available in year, month, date (mth., dt., yr./dt., mth., yr.) / Hour, minute/ No imprinting formats. Data imprinting is available for either the front or the back of the photograph, depending on the photofinishers equipment. Drop-In Film Loading With Minoltas Vectis 3000, film loading is completely mistake free. Simply open the film chamber and drop in the film cassette. There are no guides to find or film leaders to stretch. Just pop it in and close the film chamber door, and the film will automatically forward itself and advance to the next frame after each shot. At the end of the roll, the film rewinds automatically, but the power rewind function can be activated at any time during the roll. Three Print Formats For greater creativity in picture compositions, the Vectis 3000 allows the user to select C (Classic 2:3), H (High-Definition TV 9:16), and P (Panorama 1:3) print formats. The viewfinder masks the image frame appropriately for accurate picture composition. A single roll of film can contain mixed formats, and formats can be changed at any time with an order of reprints. Negatives Returned in the Film Cassette The Advanced Photo System eliminates the need to handle and sort negatives. After developing, the negatives are returned to the user in the original film cassette, for safe storage and easy retrieval. Index Prints When you get your pictures back from the photofinisher, you can also receive an index print containing thumbnail-sized positives of all the images on the roll. A matching ID number on the film cassette and index print makes it a snap to organize and locate negatives, and order reprints. Print Quality Improvement (PQI) The Vectis 3000s PQI automatically records filmstrip title, frame title, date & time, print format, film orientation, flash fire, scene bright-ness value, artificial illumination, and magnifica-tion onto the edge of the film for automatic communication to the photofinishing equipment. With this information provided, the equipment can produce better-looking prints. Double Exposure Prevention This feature optically detects if an exposed film cassette has been inserted into the camera, and prevents the film from being unintentionally exposed again. Specifications
