Only 1.1-inches thick, and weighing a mere 6.7-ounces, this is the digital camera you’ve been waiting for. The world’s smallest, most compact 2-megapixel digital camera, the PowerShot S100 Digital Elph combines the benefits of digital imaging with features and functions traditionally found only in conventional film cameras. Features include a high-quality 35-70mm (35mm equivalent) 2x optical zoom lens; a new Light Guide flash for even illumination; a high-speed, plug-and-play USB computer interface; a high-brightness 1.5-inch LCD monitor with 100 percent image coverage; three-point AiAF autofocus system; and a comprehensive software bundle including Adobe PhotoDeluxe.

High Quality:

High resolution 1600 x 1200 half-inch 2.1 megapixel CCD allows you to make a large 8" x 10" print from your color printer with plenty of fine detail and stunning results. The Three-Point TTL (Through-The-Lens) AiAF autofocus uses three separate active focusing points to keep your picture crisp and sharp, even when the subject is off-center.
Also offers an additional resolution setting of 640x480 when set in the Small mode, which is ideal for on-screen applications, such as Web sites and CD-ROMs.
2x Ultra-compact 35-70mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.8-4.0 all-glass aspherical lens minimizes image distortion. A 4x digital converter is also provided to extend the zoom range to 8x.

High Performance:

Equipped with a dedicated DSP integrated circuit (IC) to achieve high-speed and complete processing of image detail. All images are recorded as JPEG files and a built-in buffer memory allows continuous burst-mode shooting of up to 2 frames per second when set to maximum resolution. The interval between shots in single frame mode is only 1.7 seconds. High-speed search, image enlargement and image scrolling are also much faster.
Built-in four mode flash (Auto, Manual, Fill-in and slow-sync speed flash mode). The slow-sync speed mode is ideal for dramatic sunset images or sparkling night-time cityscapes. The flash uses a light guide for high efficiency and uniform light distribution.
Several shooting modes for greater creativity. Render beautiful scenery in Landscape Mode. Stitch Assist Mode lets you "sew" pictures together into a single, breath-taking panaroma. Macro mode creates awe-inspiring close-ups from just 0.3 ft. away. And for shooting with backlighting or shadows, there is exposure compensation available.

Conveniences:

Graphical User Interface makes setup and operation easy. Features, such as flash mode setting, self-timer, continuous shooting, and macro focus are readily available at the push of a button. The parameters that you want to adjust are instantly accessible via menu-driven icons.
With the PowerShot S100 five buttons control all of the functions on the camera. In addition, switching between picture taking and viewing your pictures on the LCD monitor is quick, easy, and intuitive. You just flip one switch on the dial and you’ll be in the mode you want.
Energy-saving LCD has a non-reflective coating that allows you to use it more effectively in bright sunlight. In addition, the LCD gives you 100% coverage, so you never chop off someone's head or miss an important detail.
Uses popular CompactFlash CF cards to store all images. Comes standard with an 8MB card, which can store anywhere from 4-30 pictures, depending on resolution. CF cards are available in sizes up to 192 MB.
Using energy-saving technologies such as the LED backlight for the LCD and an improved power supply system, the camera can be powered by a small Li-Ion battery, further reducing size and weight.

Bundled Software:

The PowerShot S100 easily connects to your computer with its plug-and-play USB interface. Capable of download speeds of up to 12mbps, USB lets you start manipulating your images and sending them to friends faster and with less hassle.
The PowerShot S100 comes bundled with a suite of programs enabling image management, editing, compositing and printing. In includes Adobe* PhotoDeluxe* and PhotoStitch for both Macintosh and Windows, as well as ZoomBrowser EX for Windows and ImageBrowser for the Mac. Take advantage of improved features for auto layout printing, self-running full-screen slide shows, and automated preparation of images for use as e-mail attachments. ZoomBrowser EX and Image Browser also simplify the process of emailing photos by automatically compressing the image and starting the email program. Also supports the Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) allowing the camera’s LCD monitor to be used for tagging individual images with printing instructions, such as quantity and size.
