The eMap Deluxe is identical to the standard eMap, plus it adds an 8MB data card and PC interface cable for downloading map data from Garmin’s line of various MapSource products.

Now you can throw out the map. Measuring just 2.4"W x 5.5"H and weighing a mere 6 ounces, the eMap contains a differential-ready, 12-parallel channel GPS receiver that continuously tracks and uses up to 12 satellites to compute and update your position. And despite, its dimunitive size, the eMap offers an extra-large display for showing even more map data-even while operating for up to 12 hours on just two AA batteries. So with the eMap --no matter if you are in your car or hiking in the mountains--you are never alone.

The eMap features an internal basemap containing information on North and South America including state and country boundaries, lakes, rivers, streams, airports, cities, towns, coastlines, and U.S., state, and interstate highways. In addition, the eMap provides exit information for the federal interstate highway system. With the eMap, you will know where the nearest motel, restaurant or service station is.

The eMap can also be used with GARMIN's downloadable MapSource™ CD-ROMs. These include U.S. Roads and Recreation, WorldMap, U.S. Topo, and MetroGuide U.S.A. Combining the eMap with the MetroGuide U.S.A. CD-ROM you can look up addresses and telephone numbers for nearby restaurants, hotels and even ATMs. (The eMAP Deluxe can store 8MB of downloaded CD-ROM information using the supplied 8MB data card and PC interface cable.)
