D-VHS / VHS Record / Playback
Capture all the quality of DSS programming and play it back at your convenience. The VR911HF combines state-of-the-art digital D-VHS recording technology with standard VHS Hi-Fi capability for the ultimate in-home recording and playback versatility. Through a special digital A/V connection, select RCA and ProScan brand DSS receivers can communicate with the VR911HF to record and play back digital DSS programming with virtually no signal degradation. Enjoy all the quality of DSS programming in its original form, as it is played back from the VCR as often as you like. Up to 5 hours of programming can be recorded on a single F-300 D-VHS cassette. With its VHS capability, the VR911HF also allows the recording of DSS programming in standard VHS Hi-Fi format. More importantly, VHS tape libraries will not become obsolete, as the VR911HF can play VHS tapes just like a regular VCR.
Auto Clock Set
When connected to a DSS receiver (or other compatible device), the VCR will automaticaily set the time and date accordingly and update them daily.

Conveniences

Intelligent VCR/DSS System Control
The digital A/V connection between the VCR and DSS system (or other compatible device) provides intelligent control of signal flow, as well as effective coordination of device activities and any warning messages. For example, regular off-air or cable TV programs can be scheduled for recording through the VCR's on-screen menus. DSS programs can be scheduled for unattended recording through the DSS System's on-screen menus. The intelligent control will immediately signal any recording conflicts between devices.
Simplified On-Screen Programming
With the advanced RCA remote control and on-screen displays, all timer programming can be done from the convenience of your chair. On-screen instructions guide the viewer through each programming sequence.
Alpha-Numeric LCD Display
Provides lighted, functional readout of VCR clock, channel and counter; plus functions for Play, Pause, Stop, etc.
On-Screen VCR Setup Menu

A / V Output Switch
The VR911HF was designed with convenience in mind. It includes a specially designed analog A/V output switch that allows access and viewing of either the VCR or DSS receiver by sharing the analog A/V connection to a 3-jack stereo TV/monitor. The VCR does not have to be left on in order to use the DSS receiver.
Auto Channel Search with Auto Cable/Antenna Switch
Automatically selects cable or antenna tuning; stores available off-air or unscrambled cable stations; and retains channels in memory.
VHS Index Search System
Simplifies locating the start of recorded programs by placing an electronic marker at the beginning of each new recording. Select an index number and the VCR will locate it and begin playback.
Go-To Search
Advances or reverses to a selected tape counter position.
Commercial Scan

Automatic Operation Functions
Inserting a tape turns VCR on. Loading a record-protected cassette automatically begins playback. Rewind is automatic at tape's end, as is "Power Off" when power button is pressed during rewind.
